Exilis Ultra
Exilis Ultra pairs monopolar RF with ultrasound, which sets it apart in body contouring and skin tightening comparisons.
How it works
Exilis Ultra, made by BTL Aesthetics, combines monopolar radiofrequency with ultrasound energy in a single handpiece. The RF component heats the dermis and tissue beneath, while the ultrasound component is intended to act on the fat layer. Together, the two energy sources are designed to tighten skin and reduce some fat in the treated area, while surface cooling protects the skin. Treatment is delivered as a series of passes with temperature monitoring.
Good to know
- The catalog lists it as monopolar RF with ultrasound.
- It is used on the face, neck and body areas.
- Sessions are comfortable for many people as warmth, and mild redness may follow.
- Gradual change over several sessions, varying by person.
Where Exilis Ultra sits among similar devices
Using two energy types in one device is its distinguishing feature. For a reader with both mild skin looseness and a small fat deposit, the combined approach is the argument for it, as the energy sources target different layers.
Compared with truSculpt, which is RF only, it adds ultrasound. Compared with ULFIT, which relies on focused ultrasound alone, it uses RF for skin tightening. Compared with Venus Freeze, it uses ultrasound instead of pulsed magnetic fields. The face and body use different applicators, so confirm which one fits your concern.
